"A huge place with plenty of outdoor seating outside of Tintern Abbey itself.
We missed the carvery unfortunately (2.30pm) but will definitely be back to try it out.
All four of us were very happy with our food, looked great and tasted delicious. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere"

"Lovely pub. Food was great. Open fire made it feel warm and cosy. Enjoyed a few beers. Definitely one we will come back to again."

February 2023

"If you've grown tired, thirsty and hungry from a visit to Tintern Abbey or a walk through the magnificent Wye Valley, the picturesque Anchor Inn is an excellent destination. The former cider mill of Tintern Abbey is a good place to be!"

Dog friendly pub

" We visited one afternoon for a pint, very friendly, welcoming dogs and children. Good selection of well kept local beer on tap. Returned for evening meal the next day, generous portions, excellent menu and attentive staff"

Child friendly - fab food - great staff

"The day after a bank holiday you would expect The Anchor to be busy and it was. But even though the queue was long, the weather was gorgeous and the staff were cheerful and hard working. Maria in particular was super-friendly and super helpful. Our 3 year old had a fab time in the playground, and the chicken fajitas were to die for! It was jam packed inside and they were incredibly busy - it's very difficult to keep a smile on your face when your establishment is that crowded - but all the staff were ace. 10/10 would recommend to all!."

Delicious food, amazing view, family friendly, gluten-free friendly!!

"I don’t normally write reviews, but I also don’t normally go back to the same restaurant two days in a row on holiday because they’re so great. I would highly recommend The Anchor Inn for families, and anyone with food sensitivities. The staff is lovely, and they even have a playground for the littles."
